The History Department's Nottingham field trip will soon be open for year 10's to apply. The trip is an amazing experience and we will shortly have reviews from year 11 students in our comment banks for you and your parents to read. The usual format of the trip is to travel to Nottingham on the the Wednesday and check in to Nottingham University (where we stay for two nights). We then travel that afternoon to Southwell workhouse where students will this year be presented with a source challenge to help them re-create life in the workhouse. That evening students are invited to the annual scare fest. A ghost story and horror movie extrodinaire! The Thursday is action packed, with the morning being totally devoted to the amazing Galleries of Justice. A museum where actors guide you through the tour. The museum covers all aspects of Crime, Punishment and Policing, the three most integral areas to students year 10 course. Afternoon entertainment comes in the form of a visit to Nottingham itself where students will have time to "shop till they drop", before returning to the university to do some concluding activities. The evening is spent at the local multi screen cinema. Friday is an early start. We will be transported from Nottingham to London to visit the London Dungeons. A truly scary yet magical experience. See the sights, smells anod noises of medieval England, right through to Jack the Ripper's gruesome exploits!
